Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age launches in the west

Square Enix finally released Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age in North America and Europe this week, and the latest JRPG in the legendary franchise got a new trailer to celebrate said release.
The trailer itself focuses mostly on in-game cutscenes and story, but there are some teases of the characters and in-game exploration. The combat is pretty standard RPG fare, so if you’re a fan of traditional genre conventions with a modernized look and feel, this may well be the game for you.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age is the newest iteration of the series that meshes modern gameplay conventions with plot-driven narrative structures. It all seems very fun indeed.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age is out now on Steam for $59.99. It’s also available on PS4, and there’s port for the Nintendo Switch coming at some point in the future. The JRPG title is available in a Deluxe Edition of Light package, which comes with a few downloadable goodies and some basic collectibles.
If you want to see more of this game in action, check out some footage from boss battles on the PS4 version. If that’s not enough, there’s also some coverage of the diverse in-game cast. There’s even theoriginal E3 announcement if you want that.
Check out the launch trailer down below.
